Sian’s radio recommendation of the week: In and Out of the Kitchen

In and Out of the Kitchen is back!

Miles Jupp writes and stars in this new series of the show, made up of recipes and journal entries from the food writer, Damien Trench about his life with his partner (played by Justin Edwards), his builder and his agent. It’s a middle class foody joy to listen to and I am so happy it’s back for another series.

It’s also getting made into a three part series for BBC 4 this year, along with a new show produced and co-written by Graham Linehan, (The Walshes) a Macenzie Crook comedy about archaeologists, and a Simon Day docu-comedy(the Life of Rock with Brian Pern). It seems BBC is the place to be for comedy this year, with Inside No. 9 starting this Wednesday, the new comedy from Chris Lilley starting on Thursday, and the new Pramface airing later in the year. Get that series record ready.

You can listen to episode 1 of In and Out of the Kitchen here, and you can catch the rest of the series on Monday mornings.
